Trashing SarahFriday 07 Nov 2008 George W. Bush has been purposefully and systematically disgraced in the eyes of the world; now the trashing of Governor Sarah Palin has begun. Because she was so successful at rallying the Republican Party base during the recent US presidential election, as George W. Bush was in the beginning of his presidency, now Governor Palin must bear the brunt of the liberal left’s character assassination machine, to ensure that she does not now emerge as a viable political figure. Watch it unfold; it will be systematic and total; it will not cease until Governor Sarah Palin’s character and her potential as a candidate at the next presidential elections in 2012 are destroyed. She will need to be a very strong and resolute individual to survive; she deserves and needs our prayers. What is now happening to her is not right; it is not Christian; and any Christian who becomes involved in her character assassination, should hang their head in shame. Many will say that this is “just politics”, that, all is fair in love and war and politics, but all who are concerned with the current state of world affairs, and are praying that President elect Barack Obama will unite the world, should be very concerned at this development. Because, it will not unite the world; it will only create greater and greater division; and the people who it will hurt the most, are the ordinary folk; those who are now totally dependent upon their 401(k) and superannuation retirement fund investments to carry them through their old age. Whether we like it or not: God has created this world in such a way that we must work together to succeed. As we should have all learned from the holocaust, you cannot destroy people, just because you disagree with them; or maybe you are jealous of their success. It is barbarous to think this way and only leads to man’s downfall and inhumanity. If President elect Obama governs fairly and reasonably, there is no reason why he will not have two terms in government to achieve his goals. There is no question that he has a very significant mandate from the people; and he and his supporters should be happy with this. If their policies are as right as they claim, then they have nothing to fear; they do not need to indulge in political character assassination. And this goes for the Republican Party as well. That the first post-election attacks on Governor Palin came out of Senator John McCain’s campaign team is not a compliment to Senator McCain, particularly, in light of the fact that Senator McCain went to such lengths to chastise anyone who attacked Barack Obama’s character during the recent presidential campaign. Senator McCain owes a great deal to Governor Palin; she gave his campaign credibility with many Christians and conservatives that it did not have without her; his vote would have been considerably less without Governor Palin at his side. He should move swiftly and decisively to support her at this time and nip any criticism in the bud. Did Governor Palin make mistakes? Yes she did; but no more than any of the other runners in that race. She is clearly an outstandingly gifted young woman who has already achieved much; and still has a great deal to offer politics in the United States. Undoubtedly she will have learned a great deal from this experience and will be a better governor of her state as a result – if nothing else. She clearly represents a constituency that, in a democracy like the United States claims to be, has every right to be heard. Moreover, she is a fellow citizen of the United States of America; and a fellow human being, who deserves our respect. Christians who care about the good governance of the world must buy into this issue. We cannot sit idly by and allow it to fester and lead the world into further left-right political division; the schism is already too deep; the consequences of worsening political intolerance throughout the world are too awful to contemplate. History has shown time and time again where this road leads. Let us not be fools and think that somehow this time we can play this foolish game and win; because we cannot. Both sides of the political spectrum have responsibility in this issue. The disorganized, “organic” liberal left however, has the greatest of all responsibility; particularly the millions of young people who have thronged to support Barack Obama’s historic presidency. If these young people truly care for the world, then they need to come of age quickly and think; and realize that nothing does the cause of the left more harm than the lack of tolerance that it shows to anyone who disagrees with their point of view. In a democracy like the United States of America, one can disagree; and one can enthusiastically support the candidate of one’s choice. However, one must respect the boundaries that protect the democracy they purport to cherish; one must respect the offices and the institutions of government that protect the democracy and the people, because if you pull these down, you will pay a very great price. If the free enterprise economy of the United States collapses, hundreds of millions of people around the world will suffer for many, many years to come. If you doubt that this is true; and that we are moving down this road, look around you and see the reality. Over the past 50 years we have seen the universities around the world who produce the leaders of tomorrow, systematically converted by the liberal left from institutions of higher learning and education into citadels of intolerance; and the move is already well underway into grade schools. The same has now happened to the world news media to the point where it no longer has any credibility; instead, it is generally accepted, even by its own supporters, to be the propaganda arm of the liberal left political agenda; they who benefit most from the system that affords them free speech, have become the greatest threats to its destruction. After struggling for centuries to achieve free speech and to make higher education accessible to all, it is a sad shame, and an ugly blight on the intelligence of humanity that this has been allowed to happen; and is continuing to be tolerated. It is no credit to the leaders who have been in charge of guiding these institutions during this time; and in the same way that the Wall Street rulers are now suffering; they too will pay a big price in the end. God bless America and the World. The road ahead does not look smooth. We are not off to a good start. |
